Kathy HrenkoDirector of Operations - Philadelphia
Kathy comes to Project C.U.R.E. with more than 20 years of nonprofit experience serving her local community through professional and volunteer service. Her focus has been to meet the needs of those most vulnerable. She is a successful leader dedicated to the start-up, growth and development of Project C.U.R.E.’s Mid-Atlantic Distribution Center utilizing the strength of both internal and community resources. The Mid-Atlantic Distribution Center, which began in 2015 with an empty warehouse and one volunteer, reached a milestone in 2020 of shipping its 50th cargo container.
Kathy received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from The Pennsylvania State University and her master’s degree in Creative Arts in Therapy from Hahnemann University. She is a board-certified art therapist with experience in psychiatry, cancer support, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, bereavement, HIV/AIDS support, and dementia care. Most recently, Kathy served as the executive director of the Kennett After-School Association offering a free after-school program to over 300 middle school students. Key functions included fund development, grant writing, public relations, and program development while building a large volunteer workforce and extensive community partnerships. Kathy is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Art Therapy Associations, Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Longwood Rotary Club and Peaceworks, LTD where she serves on the board. Her passion is to make a difference both locally and beyond as she serves the Project C.U.R.E. mission of delivering health and hope to the world.
